I was coming back from a friends house late at night and swung by the bathroom to do my manly business before I went to bed. One of the other RAs, Suyi, was in the bathroom as I came in, so I said hi. He was laughing and told me to go look in the shower room.
Sigh. I instantly knew that I should just turn around and walk back out.
Instead, I went to see what he had found. It couldn't be good, whatever it was. As it turned out, someone had decided to take a big dood right on one of the shower drains. Cute. I got to spend the next 15 minutes helping Suyi clean it up. Luckily, since he was the one on duty, all I really had to do was show him where the cleanup kits were and stand by as he did the dirty work. Really, though, who does that? All the guys who came in and out of the bathroom as we worked were pretty disgusted by it as well.
At least we were able to laugh about it as Suyi worked. It made it bearable, although Suyi still almost hurled at one point. I left a little while after the other RA on duty got there. I guess I wasn't that eager to see the exciting conclusion. What a night...

Sadly thats not the first instance I've heard of that happening. Ewwwww.
That's gross! That reminds me of when someone peed in the elevator at Tamarack over Christmas break.
I can't tell you how many times I've had to clean up poop. I'm practically a connoisseur by now: crayola poop (my personal favorite), turkey diarrhea, baby poop, puppy poop, toilet overflow poop, you name it. At least the job has gotten much easier since the white carpet was replaced with hardwood...
All that to say...I feel for you. I really do.
So did he smoosh it down the drain and run a bunch of water on top of it or scoop it up and dispose of it in the toilet? Inquiring minds want to know.
What that really reminds me of is the Iraqi Police barracks in Iraq. I talked to some of our guys and they said when they were building up our Combat Outpost (COP) in some of the IP barracks a lot of the IPs had come in and done exactly that. Just squatted in the barracks and and dropped one. So your residents are exactly as civilized as Iraqis. Congratulations.
The scooping one. And it's reassuring to hear that my residents act like Iraqis. I think I'll start watching for IEDs in the hallway.
