My father always told me that when God has a message for you, you'll get it two or three times.
Tonight, as I was doing my devotions, I was especially struck by Ephesians 3:17-20.
"... And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
It reverberated with the lyrics of the beautiful Stuart Townend hymn that we sang during Campus Crusade tonight.
How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
As both the verses and the hymn declare, God's love is utterly beyond the scope of anything else we can imagine. Think about it! Paul was praying that the Christians in Ephesus would just to be able to grasp the full extent of God's love! That's how great it is!
This reminded me that God's love should be the sole foundation of my life. It is the one thing that will always remain solid and constant. I shouldn't look to build my life and worth on my academic or financial successes, my friends, my significant other, my possessions, or any other worldly thing. Only God's enormous love can make me whole.
I'll finish the same way Ephesians 3 does:
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."

Alternatively, read the whole book of Ecclesiastes (especially the last chapter). There is good in wisdom, love, wealth, and enjoying the blessings we have been given, but none of these things is able to give meaning to our lives. Fear God and obey his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Clear and simple. The meaning of life is to love and obey God, our Father and Creator. Sure takes the pressure off of trying to find meaning or satisfaction in anything of this earth.
